Anak syarikat milik penuh Public Bank, Public Mutual, mengumumkan pengagihan untuk tiga daripada dana-dananya. Jumlah pengagihan kasar yang diumumkan untuk tahun kewangan dana yang berakhir pada 31 Disember 2010 adalah seperti berikut:
Public Dana Savings : 9.00 sen seunit
Public Dana Focus Select : 2.00 sen seunit
Public Dana Islamic Enhanced Bond : 3.00 sen seunit
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Public Mutual Yeoh Kim Hong bersukahati bahawa kesemua dana di atas berjaya menghasilkan pulangan yang menarik untuk pelabur-pelabur mereka. Beliau berkata, “Public Dana Savings dan Public Dana Focus Select telah mencatatkan pulangan satu tahun dua-digit sebanyak 17.94% dan 25.77% masing-masing bagi tempoh berakhir 3 Disember 2010 (Sumber: Lipper, 13 Disember 2010). Kedua-dua dana itu terbuka kepada Skim Pelaburan Ahli KWSP.”
Public Dana Savings yang dilancarkan pada tahun 1981 merupakan dana pertama Public Mutual. Dana tersebut bertujuan untuk mencapai pertumbuhan modal jangka panjang, pada masa yang sama menghasilkan aliran pendapatan yang berpatutan. Public Dana Focus Select, yang dilancarkan pada tahun 2004, pula bertujuan untuk mencapai pertumbuhan modal melalui pelaburan dalam syarikat-syarikat dari pelbagai sektor ekonomi yang bersaiz sederhana dari segi pemodalan pasaran.
Sementara itu, Public Dana Islamic Enhanced Bond yang dilancarkan pada tahun 2006 telah mencatatkan pulangan satu tahun sebanyak 4.88% bagi tempoh yang sama. Sebagai sebuah dana bon patuh Syariah, dana tersebut bermatlamat menawarkan kombinasi pendapatan tahunan dan pertumbuhan modal yang sederhana terutamanya melalui portfolio yang terdiri daripada sekuriti hutang Islam dan saham-saham yang memenuhi kehendak Syariah.

Firm offshore markets coupled with buying of selected heavyweight index stocks helped the FBM KLCI to cross 1,500 points and touch a 2-week intraday high of 1,518.8 points on Thursday. The index closed at 1,511.6 points to register an increase of 0.8% for the week.
The average daily trading volume was sustained at 1.2 bil units compared to the preceding week while average trading value eased to RM1.6 bil from RM2 bil over the same period.
On Wall Street, share prices continued to remain firm on news that the U.S. 3Q2010 GDP growth was revised up slightly to 2.6% from earlier estimates of 2.5%. The recent uptrend in the 10-year Treasury bond yields to above 3% since early December also boosted sentiment for equity assets. The Dow rose by 0.7% to close at a 28-month high of 11,573 points while the broader-based S&P 500 Index rose by 1.0% to 1,257 points. The Nasdaq was up 0.9% to 2,666 points over the same period.
Public Mutual declares distributions for 6 funds
Public Bank’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Public Mutual, declares distributions for six of its funds. The total gross distributions declared for the financial year ended 30 November 2010 are as follows:
Public Select Alpha-30 Fund : 2.50 sen per unit
Public Natural Resources Equity Fund : 1.50 sen per unit
Public Far-East Dividend Fund : 0.50 sen per unit
Public Islamic Balanced Fund : 1.00 sen per unit
Public Islamic Sector Select Fund : 1.00 sen per unit
Public Islamic Asia Leaders Equity Fund : 0.75 sen per unit
According to The Edge-Lipper Fund Table dated 22 November 2010, Public Select Alpha-30 Fund and Public Natural Resources Equity Fund have generated one-year returns of 15.81% and 12.10% respectively for the period ended 12 November 2010. At the same time, Public Far-East Dividend Fund recorded a one-year return of 6.97%.
Meanwhile, both Public Islamic Balanced Fund and Public Islamic Sector Select Fund, which are open for EPF Members Investment Scheme, also recorded double digit one-year returns of 11.08% and 32.73% respectively for the period ended 12 November 2010. Public Islamic Asia Leaders Equity Fund, which was launched in January this year, generated a six-month return of 9.67% for the period ended 12 November 2010.
